BIOS Reset on 8171-31U

Hello everyone,

I was recently donated a number of 8171-31U machines for a local centre for disadvantaged youths. I needed to add com port support for older donated joysticks, etc..etc. When I tried what I thought was a rest -- pulled the battery and shorted the jumper -- the machine now gives me 0198 and 0197 errors. Is there a password that will allow me into the BIOS to open these ports. Hoping you can help me, to help these kids at the centre.
