Install XP on machine that was 7

Purchased a used M58E 7269 computer from employer.  OS is removed (was 7).  I want to install XP from my old pc.  It's a Microsoft CD (with product key) not a "proprietary" recovery disc.  But when I try to boot from the XP installation CD, it doesn't recognize and keeps showing the message about insert bootable CD and select any key to continue?  Any suggests?

It looks like the PC is trying to load the HDD first. I do not know of the exact location in the BIOS, but it should be under Boot options. Change it to boot the CD/DVD drive first.
