Hey all,
I've an M52, my problem is that it random reboots and beeps as hell when I boot it (1 then 3 then 1). I've googled a few answers and I've come up with a few alternatives that might be the ones. (It worked excellent til today, where it stopped after I rebooted the computer due to Windows Update.)
1) The systemboard is failing?
2) The PSU has died?
Also, the rear fan(The one near powerbutton) is blowing very much and noisy and I get no picture. I've tried to remove the RAM-sticks but it's not the RAM clearly. I'm gonna try to replug all hardware at the MOBO.
Can you guys give me a few tips on what to do if I'am able to repair, if so how?

Did you check the capacitors on the board for brown "dirt" on their top?
In that case or if the capacitors top is not flat anymore you've found the cause.

Can you please send me a screenshot on how the capacitor looks like. Sorry for misspell, I think I know what you mean. I've had this Lenovo standing for weeks inactive due not having a monitor. Send me a snapshot on how it looks like and I'll correct this mistake as soon as possible.
Thank you.

I've cleaned the capacitors, seem not to be case. They're a bit wiggly aswell, if it's the mobo how can I replace the motherboard?
Incase I want to use the parts on another computer or so.

My rear fan is very dusty, the same with all the other fans.
The psu lamp is green, I wonder what it possibly can be.
I'll upload a youtube video just to show you how it boots and auto reboots.

If the capacitor have/had the brown skin on the top, they are damaged:

"ausgelaufen" = leaked
"gewölbte Oberfläche" = curved skin
Both symptoms lead to the conclusion, that the capacitor is damaged and the electrolyte has been seperated. It was a quality-problem of the capacitor's manufacturer in the late 1990s and early 2000 (IBM Netvista is affected as well as older ThinkCentres until M55/A55)
