Part number for M58p SATA DVD with lightscribe [ Edited ]

Hi,

My M58p has its orignal internal DVD-ROM which is a Hitachi model DH10N.  Can anyone let me know the Hitachi model number of the Super Multi-Burner DL DVD±RW SATA Drive in their M58p?  I'd like to upgrade to a DVD writer but would like to purchase the same device as Lenovo would have installed (unless anyone can make a strong recommendation for an alternative).  My main consideration is a drive with quiet operation.

All I need is the make/model number of your SATA DVD with lightscribe in your M58 or M58p.

OK - found it.  The Hitachi LG reference is GH10L

Shopping around for that will get you the same 41N5620 DVD writer with Lightscribe drive that Lenovo provides but at a cheaper price.

There are retail and OEM versions of this drive ..

Physical drive hardware might be the same ... firmwares usually differs ... 

OE drives usually have their own firmware written for them ... sometimes for specific machines and operating system eg. HP has a version of this drive .... frimware updates are usually machine and os specific .....  some drives may not have firmware updates ... and can't be cross-flashed with other firmware ...
