Temporary interruption

At random intervals the system freezes for a second or two on my Lenovo Thinkcenter M58 with Windows 7. Mouse won't move. A two-note sound issues and then it's back to normal. Avast and Macafee scans turn up no problem. There is no pattern to it. Might happen every couple of minutes or 4 or more times in a minute. Very annoying.

Re: Temporary interruption

It could be an outdated driver, when was the last time you ran TVT System update?  I've experienced similar situations when certain drivers are older.

If you haven't run System Update recently, give that a shot and see if that resolves the issue, if not, we can do some more digging.

Re: Temporary interruption

Thanks. I seem to have solved the problem by removing the old Logitech UA596 mouse I was using and replacing it with the Lenovo mouse that came with the computer a couple of months ago. Drivers may have had something to do with this but I don't care now.
