USB header on ThinkCentre M55 8808-CM8 not working.

the fingerprint reader should go through usb.

I have several Thinkcentre that have 10 usb when the header is in place.

Fingerprint enabling did nothing. Can you do me a favor? If you can compare your system board FRU # with mine. Mine is 43C0059. This board includes AMT which I disabled as I will not be using this and don't need a security hole. Thanks

Thanks. I'm beginning to think there might be some small differences in these boards. Maybe they all have the usb header on them but bios may not allow it to be activated on some models. Like some have AMT and some don't.

Thanks for posting your FRU. your board does not have AMT. Its possible that AMT models don't have a enabled internal USB header but I'm still not 100% sure. Would love to have a manual for this board.

is it that important to get that usb header working? i didn't know this header plug existed until you mention it.

It's not overly important but since I noticed the header a while back myself I figured I will plug in a usb port slot plate in the riser module and have more usb ports in the back because now I have printer, harddrive, mouse, keyboard, wireless adapter and webcam. But I was thinking of connecting another usb harddrive or 2 but I dont want cables in the front. Its not a big deal. I got the computer cheap and I chose it mostly for the quietness and size. I'm actually using it as a media center and it works good even in 1080p video. I would like to figure this out cuz I don't want to hook up a usb hub if I don't have to. I wonder if lenovo support can help me? I'm not the original owner of the pc as I got it at a store as a return asset sale.

Lenovo engineers very rarely comment on these cases, especially for older machines like this.
