Hi,
I've recently started using Windows 7, and the internet speed is painfully slow, it maxes out at about 70 kb/s. I've been on this connection for a few years now, and have 3 XP computers hooked up to it that get normal (900 kb/s) speeds as always.
My Windows 7 is a pretty clean installation, apart from Office and a few other standard things it's not been clogged up with a lot of programs. I have read many threads about this issue on other sites and whirlpool, and I have tried everything suggested, but the speed is as slow as ever, both with wireless on and turned off (the Win 7 is the PC connected to the modem). I have the latest firmware for my Netcomm modem, and installed the latest LAN driver on my motherboard.
Can someone please help?
My specs:
IBM/Lenovo Thinkcenter
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+, 2GB, 160GB 7200RPM S-ATA HDD, no diskette drive, PCI/PCIe Tower (4x4), NVIDIA GeForce 6100, DVD Burner, Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet, Netcomm NB6+4W
thanks,
itwalks

Hi, thanks for the reply, here is the speedtest result:

But in real life I have never reached this speed on this computer. Like my post said, I'm happy to get over 100kb/s. Even web pages take a long time to load, especially ones with photos/pictures.
