I accidently posittioned a CD into my dvdrw drive incorrectly, which caused the cd inside to shatter, resulting in a disfuncitonal cd rom drive.
Due to some other issues, I decided to reinstall windows, but later realized I couldn't because the CDrom drive was jammed.
I ended up taking out my dvdrw drive in the lenovo and replaced it with another CD rom drive. There were only two cables taken out of the original cd rom drive and put into the new one (the sata and the cable that goes to the power outlet). EVERYTHING ELSE WAS UNTOUCHED.
So, after the installation of a new CD rom drive, I got the infamous "No hard disk" error during the windows xp installation.
After some research, I relized I needed to get SATA drivers so my hard drive could be read. I followed the steps outlined here:
I found an old thread in these forums stating to use this driver:
I tried to do this (instal SATA driver on floppy, change the bios so its sata enabled etc etc), however I get the same EXACT error....
I have a ThinkCentre M51 8143-YA9. If anyone could please help me solve this issue I would greatly appreciate it!

I fixed the problem by using a different cd-rom drive and using the drivers found in the zip linked above.
