ThinkCentre S50, 8086. I am getting warnings in Win7, using Office 2007 professional, that it does not detect any sound card. What do I do?

Did you try to use the troubleshooting mechanism in the control panel?

On my control panel there is a category where one can fix problems. That doesn't give me any link for my problem. There is a category for Hardware and Sound. I can't seem to navigate that to get to a spot where I can have Win7 recognize my computer sound.
Ok...I tried putting in the word "troubleshooter" in the search box in the Control Panel, as suggested by WIn7. I tried several things to get the sound to work. Troubleshooting acknowledged that it tried. STill doesn't work. pat

What sound card do you have in the machine ? Do you have the latest driver ? What does Device Manager show for the Sound ?
Did Windows 7 advisor indicate the sound card would be supported b4 you installed Windows 7 ?
Sorry for all the questions but trying to help ....
