Thinkcenter E50 -- 8291-E2U -- Unable to flash BIOS

I followed the instructions for flashing the BIOS on this PC -- burned an ISO image to a CD, reboooted but never got the prompt for booting from the CD ( the bot up sequence in the BIOS has the CD/DVD drive 1st ).

Its like it does not recognize the CD with the ISO is there --

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem ? I do not have a diskette to try method.

what i forgot to say was, it does not see the CD with the ISO image and continues on to boot up Windows

Hi, you need to burn the iso image to a cd  (Record now,Nero iso burnner, or other iso burnner)than after the cd is bootable, try taping F12 when you turn on the machine, it should give you an option to start up from optical drive select it and hit enter

Good Luck

Re: Thinkcenter E50 -- 8291-E2U -- Unable to flash BIOS

I burned the ISO as instructed using Sonic RecordNow -- tryed the PF12 boot method and was presented with options to Boot Windows or do a memory test.

It seems the ISO image I am burning is not recognized in the CD drive --- I looked at the contents of the CD and I see a folder with some text information, and a *.IMAG file on it -- I have also tried burning the image with Windows w/o success ---

What could I be doing wrong ?

Re: Thinkcenter E50 -- 8291-E2U -- Unable to flash BIOS

I just discovered that the BIOS i am trying to flash is already there (lol )  --which is why it is probably being ignored ?

Must have fixed this years ago and forgot.....
