I have just upgraded 8183/S50 to Win 7. This machine has 865G Chipset with Extreme Graphics (under old XP).
Win 7 does not recognise this. Question ? Is there a better driver to use (could not find anything at Intel). Is it possible to up grade to a PCI Graphics board on the PCI riser? Can the old internal graphics be turned off?
Thanks for any help... James

Hello james
Since 2007 I have a ThinkCentre S50 8183-TSG that I use for Photoshop, now version CS5. In order to enable Open GL for advanced graphic options and improve general performance I placed 2 GB of RAM and a GE 8400 GS PCI type graphics card. This works just fine. The 865G chipset is way too limited for todays graphics. Please note that I am running under Windows XP Home edition, updated to SP3 with all the latest updates for everything so I don't know whether this also works under Windows 7.
Succes!
Hans

Is that a PCI-E card or a normal? I have an S51 and like to upgrade the video card, but still not find any better card that fit in.

Can I use an external graphics card with my desktop 8183-mkg s50 35g?
If yes, what type?
