Hi,
I was on the Windows 7 Forum (MS site) and they have a nice feature there that shows that there are 'X' number of posts that need answers within a category. Nifty! It is a little green balloon with a number inside (# of posts needing answers) and if you click on it, you get taken just to those posts. It appears at the category level.
Would you consider this for here ? ![]()
I think it would help those of us who have entered a question in a very active category. The 'T61 and older Ts' section is hogged by T61s and if you have anything else your post gets buried very quickly. I have a post in the ThinkCentre category that was buried within 2 days and nobody has answered it. Pretty sure it on page 10 by now. Nobody goes down that far to help you out.
Thanks to you guys who have given us this forum. I for one, have learned a lot from it.

Hi, emmjay, I'm glad you've found the forum helpful to you! It is hard to keep up with everything particularly in the busier boards.
The Lithium forum software doesn't have a similar widget, however by going to advanced search and checking the topics with no replies selection, a list can be produced. It can be generated for the entire forum, a section or just a single board. You can also subscribe to that search so that new entries would show up in an RSS feed.
Re your message in the ThinkCentre board, while we discourage bumping threads too soon, if it's been over 24 hours, you're certainly free to bump your thread back up to the top of the board to try to get someone's attention.
Hope this helps!

Thank you Jane for your response. Ahhh pooey, too bad it can not be implemented here.![]()
I have used Advanced Search to find something that I was particularly interested in. It is good if you are looking for a solution prior to opening your own post, however, my focus here was on getting an answer to a post that I had already submitted. Coming back day after day hoping that someone has answered your Q and finding that no-one has becomes depressing.
I was not aware of the bumping function ... how do you do this? and what is the appropriate wait time?

Usually it's just because no one visiting the forum has run into a particular set of circumstances. We also don't have a lot of ThinkCentre users visiting the forum daily, but that area is growing slowly. I hope you'll stay and add your knowledge and experiences to the community.

You can bump your thread by simply posting a reply to your original message. Preferably you'll have some additional details about the problem or more information about what you've tried since you first posted, however you can simply post the word "bump". Please wait at least 24 hours between initially posting and then bumping your thread.
Thanks!
