It would be easie to find what one is looking for without having to post new topics over and over...

Hello Carlo,
please scroll down to the bottom this page.
Left hand you´ll find the search box.

we have a design overhaul planned for the forum and will be placing the search box at the top. in the meantime, we're stuck with it at the bottom.

Well,
Search is top of the home page, but bottom of all the category and board pages...
There are usability arguements for and against each location - when you land on a page, you should be near the top unless you are arriving from a link that is pointing to a message in mid thread, and then when you scroll to the bottom (in theory) to jump to next page, you would see the search.
Maybe we need it at the top and bottom of each page?

+1 for top AND bottom.

most users expect search boxes at the top of a page and don't expect them to disappear (or subsequently move to the bottom). both locations are ideal as some pages are long. there are times when you read through 20 posts, get to the bottom of a page, think of something you want to search, and decide to use the box at the bottom rather than having to scroll back up.
so, yeah, both locations are the goal here. it's on the list of things to do. ![]()

All,
Search has been added to the top and bottom of community, category, board pages.
Only when viewing a thread like this one is it still only at the bottom of the page.
Hope this helps improve usability.
For future re-designs we will consider moving to the top right .
