Hey guys,
I hope this is the correct forum to ask this, but I thouht I'd bring it up before screwing up my system without means of recovering it. I've used Ubuntu on my main system for a while now, and I want to put it on my thinkpad T61. However, I'm afraid that if I need to go back to Windows, I don't have the disks for it. I created the one time recovery disks a while back, but I"m not exactly sure what they are. Can I use them to completely restore Windows and all of the applications that came with my computer? Or is it like a complete image of the hard drive?
If all goes bad, and I need to reinstall everything, but my disks are no good--could I request for others to come soon? I'm within Warantee (although, I only have the minimum warantee).
Basically, if I want to go back to Windows, how do I do it? Dual booting is out of the option.
Thanks,
George

First, Try out your recovery discs while you are still in warranty. Then you will know if they work or not. If not, notify Lenovo for a replacement set.
Second, The recovery discs will wipe all the partitions on your hard disc, reinstall the recovery partition, reboot and you will reinstall windows from the recovery partition.
Third, You can still dual boot if you want to. Just make sure windows is installed first and let the Ubuntu installer partition the drive for you to install Ubuntu.
