best way to backup computer

I am a little confused about how best to backup my laptop in case of a virus attack or some other corruption. What is your advice? Thanks

My advice is to use the backup/restore tool that is built into Windows 7.

 

Type "backup and restore" into the start menu, click on "set up backup", and go through the wizard.  Save your backups on a USB drive.

 

Then, make sure you create a system repair disc that you can use to restore your system in an emergency.
