As the title says - when charging my A1, the touchscreen will stop responding when charging it. It doesnt seem to matter if i change from the USB port on my PC, or from directly plugging it into the wall socket with the provided adaptor. Also, the percentage of charge doesnt seem to matter - it has happened at different levels of charge... Only way to get out of the lock is to reboot the tablet by holding down the power button.
This is my second A1 - a replacement for the original one i bought that I had to return because the screen completely stopped responding (the screen calibration tool would fail when testing it). The original also had a similar problem. I dont want to return this one as I am otherwise happy with it. But, if it has to go back, then I wont be replacing it with another Lenovo... time to try another vendor I think.

Are you using the original charger that came with the A1? I have heard of instances of low-quality or faulty chargers causing noise on the power supply, which can interfere with the function of the touchscreen.
Do you still have the issue if you try charging with the USB port from a computer, or if you us another charger (if you have one)?

yes - using the original charger - and this is the second one from Lenovo. Have been using the the USB primarily now, and it is still happening occasionally. Havent tried a third party AC adaptor yet, but may give that a try.

I noticed that the touchscreen on my A1's response is quite poor when it's laid flat on a desk - if I pick it up and hold it at an angle, it works as normal - does the problem only occur when the A1 is lying flat, or at other times when charging?

Welcome To Lenovo Community
You can try the following method
Power off by holding power button for 10 seconds,Press the volume + button and power button simultaneously,
system will power up into restore screen
You will see a menu options, i.e. Restore to factory settings, the last option is recalibrate touch,
Use volume buttons to scroll through the menu, then used the power button to "select" the recalibrate option,
it will display a message don't touch the screen, it will take a few seconds and will power off.
Press the power button until you feel the gsensor, then let go, tablet will power up and the screen will work properly
Hope This Helps
