I would like to use the K1 as a GPS. I couldn't find a car charger for it. GPS drains battery quickly. I don't think the battery can last for a 8-hour drive.
Any ideas where I can get one?

Accessories are pretty well non existant for the K1. I would like a Host USB adapter or a SD card reader.
Lenovo has zero interest in providing information, the only info you can find is the marketing blurb.
I managed to find a third party leather case at skindigitalstore.com for 18$

The output of the Lenovo AC charger is 12VDC to the K1. USB is specified as 5VDC. If you plug the data cable into USB you will only see 5VDC. I wonder if you had a cheapo USB/car adapter as indicated above would it put out 5VDC or 12 VDC? If it did put out 12 VDC would the K1 data cable have the right internal connections to deliver the charge?
I will find out tonight as I just received a 2$ USB/car adapter in the mail...

Thanks everyone for the responses.
As a workaround, maybe I should get a power inverter to convert the cigarette light plug into 110V. Then, I need to bring the wall charger with me all the time.
By any chances, do you know where we can get a K1 tablet holder for cars? If I am driving alone and use the K1 as a GPS, I need something to hold it still.

Bumping this thread. Has anyone tried to plug the USB sync cord into a car charger with USB port?
I checked Lenovo if they had a car charger and told me they didn't but to check with some of their resellers. <deep sigh>

Or is only wired for synching.
The lack of a car charger is a major pitfall. Not irremediable though.
I can only say good things about the K1, it has worked wonderfully so far, though its proprietary power connection and lack or unavailability of certain accessories would have been a deal breaker at any retail price above $300.
What were Lenovo thinking? Does the Thinkpad tablet have the same problem, I can't think of any organization purchasing them for their traveling employees without the availability of car chargers...
