Re: What's your favorite apps?

[ Edited ]

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Overdrive yet.  If you use your tablet to read books, Overdrive will let you check out electronic books from your local library.  As a resident of Massachusetts, I was able to sign up for an electronic library card with the Boston Public Library without having to go to Boston to do it:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.overdrive.mobile.android.mediaconsole

The app is free and the books are free... what could be better?

xScope Browser is the best browser I've found.

Elder Sign: Omens is an excellent, official Android version of an actual board game by FFG. It's my favorite tablet-based game by far.

Re: What's your favorite apps?

Thanks for the moboplayer tip - great app.

Tweetdeck for Twitter is brilliant on a tablet.

Navfree is a great GPS app and doesn't crash like Google maps.

Google maps won't crash the tablet if you remove the recent update.

Re: What's your favorite apps?

I changed my favorite browser from Dolphin to xScope.
I'm also going with Hacker keyboard currently.

Re: What's your favorite apps?

Dead Space by EA.

By far the best mobile game on the market. Beat it twice now, and enjoyed it each time through.

It made me drop my tablet once or twice...trust me when I say that the game is awesome. It's controls are intuitive and the gameplay is incredibly immersive.

GET IT.

Group SMS Free is a great app for sending TXT messages using your Google Voice account. I set up groups online in my Gmail account, and can select to send personalized mass texts to groups in my contacts.

Re: What's your favorite apps?

I love these apps (and they're all FREE):

  • ASTRO File Manager (I've tried all the others, this is the best file manager)
  • Adobe Photoshop Express (say no more)
  • AndroSensor (shows live data streams from all the active sensors in your tablet)
  • Z-Device Test (shows live status of devices built-in to your tablet)
  • Citrix Receiver (If you have the right work network it lets you work from home)
  • Evernote (the best note app, hands down)
  • Wi-Fi Analyzer  by Farproc (shows lots of interesting details of wifi networks around you - needs WiFi Connector Library)
  • Fing (shows you a ton of useful info about devices in your wifi network
  • Gloomy Dungeons 3D (oldskool Doom clone)
  • MX Video Player (the best movie player around, until VLC for Android arrives at least - needs ARMv7 Codec)
  • Flying Toast Live Wallpaper (old Mac users unite!)

And remember they're all FREE!
