HDMI Sound overide???

Hi,

I have just bought an idea centre all in one desktop with an HDMI output, running windows 7.

I plug an external monitor into this via the HDMI out (Samsung monitor), however, the monitor has no speaker, and plugging in the HDMI seems to cancel out the sound from the speakers on the idea centre, thus i am left with no sound when running two monitors.

Can this be avoided, so that the sound continues when i run the external monitor?

right click the speaker next to your clock when you monitor is connected and select, playback devices then select speakers and set as defualt, this should put the sound back to your speakers
