Q150 connected to TV - bottom of windows task bar is cut off

Question

I purchased a Q150 for my parents to watch online videos on their TV.  I connected it up and was setting up different things when I noticed that the 1920x1080 output is out of the ordinary. On my computer monitor which is a 1080 monitor, the desktop is actually wider and taller than these dimensions. As you can see in the photo, the Windows button and task bar is half hidden. On my TV, which is also a 1080 set up, the same thing happens. I have to bring down the screen resolution tp 1680x1050 in order for everything to fit.

What is causing this and what is the solution?

Answer

Look for the "Just Scan" setting in the Samsung TV's video menus, and enable it.

I've had the exact same problem with the new Lenovo q190 that I just purchased and had hoped to connect to my Samsung tv as a media center player.  My Samsung HDTV does not have the "just scan" function you refer to above.  I cannot find a way to configure this thing to get a good screen resolution that will fit the screen.  I should point out that my old HP computer with a Gforce graphics driver had no problem configuring properly to this TV screen.  What gives here?  If I can't find a solution, this Lenovo PC is going to be returned.  thanks.
