I agreed to update the system on my A1 Tablet yesterday and that was the last I saw of it.....
The tab was running just fine yesterday. Then, I agreed to install what a "simple" system update and since then I have been unable to get the tablet to start (I guess I should have been suspicious because the info. dialogs for the "update" were in very poorly written english).
I thought I left it in sleep state. It is plugged in to a live charger (my phone charges just fine with it). I have tried the power button + the volume rocker, etc. It just seems to have been "bricked" - absolutely nothing happens. No lights, no response whatsoever.
Any ideas about getting my computer working again?

There is no such thing as a "simple system update". It rewrites the entire operating system.
Try holding the power button down for at least 60 seconds. The A1 should hopefully vibrate. Let go of the power button and it should boot.
Otherwise call Lenovo tech support. These things do have a 1 year warranty.

Did you 'unlock' it?
I had the same problem, couldn't figure it out.
Are there two tabs? One for unlocking and one for audio volume?
Pull out the lock and unlock it.
Screwy.
