A1 - unable to use WiFi for location services?

Hello;

I'm unable to get any app which uses location services to be able to find my location using WiFi.  I have "use wireless networks" enabled under Location & Security Settings.

My understanding, which may be incorrect, is that an app is supposed to use WiFi for an approximate location when GPS is unavailable.  I'm not sure if this is default behavior for all Android apps, or recommend practice and can differ between apps.

AFAIK, this bug has not been fixed in the official Lenovo sources. The unofficial CyanogenMod 7 for the A1 does fix this issue (search xda-developers for the CM7 thread). Note that CM7 for the A1 is still a work in progress.
