Re: Skype Video

One of the issues on this forum is that the K1 and the A1 are in the same place. The K1 works, it is an entirely different device, different processor, speeds, memory, operating system etc...

The A1 is the one on which Skype video currently does not work.

Re: Skype Video

No luck with the Thunderbolt APK for the A1 (the Thunderbolt APK is the one that I have had the best luck on my phone).  Black screen.. no option to play video... yadda yadda yadda...

Wait, are you saying that Skype VIDEO works, or that Skype works for audio calls? I can get audio, I cannot get either camera to work with Skype to make a video call.

Good question, I have tried 3 versions that I have locally to no avail... but I have not tried the market version yet.  I was kinda looking forward to giving that a shot tonight.

I downloaded the android app market Skype and it does NOT work for video me. Sound / connections and all else works just fine, just no outgoing video from either camera.

No luck with the current Market version for me either.

I had a thought though.... and my A1 froze again before I could try it myself.  But would a different camera app make a difference?  I am not even sure if the logic makes sense, but I want to give it a shot.

If Skype works, I would be willing to consider an exchange with Lenovo.

Re: Skype Video

Jaysus,

I have “Travel Diary” and and it sees and uses both cameras. I also have “Camera Trigger” on my A1 and it sees the front camera. Not sure if it even knows the device has 2 cameras. So, the cameras do work for some apps, just not Skype.

I SURE DO WANT Skype to work on it!!

Re: Skype Video

Just did the system update. I am not sure what it did, but it did NOT fix the Skype video out problem.

I did another test and connected with my wife (across the room) with the video off. When I connected with her, Skype said that sh could not see me as my video was off. When I hit the video butten, my small video windo opened, but was black (no photo) and at the same time her Skype went into video mode. That is, her video dropped down into a small preview window and she got a blank, black window where my video should be.

HELP ANY ONE?????

Skype Video or Google Talk

Maybe not the correct thread -- but my new A1 runs Google Talk (with 2-way Video) just fine. Haven't not yet tested the Skype app but it boots up smoothly. No one to call at the moment. Perhaps the Google Talk makes sense because it is a google operating system so 99.99% of the google based apps gotta work, right? Will more people activate their google-talk app? Next question: we have "text-to-speech" function embedded in the A1. How do you access it? How do you make it "speak" a text file, for example? It's easy on a PC, you highlight the text and engage the program, she speaks. Any guidance?
