Finding files on A1

After plugging in my A1 and turing on USB debugging, I opened Computer (Win 7), then opened Removable Disk (E being the internal drive - no SD card is installed), then in Explorer view I copied a pdf to various folders such as documents, download, DCIM, GO Keyboard Themes..and I don't how to navigate within the device to open the pdf.

 

I go to Apps and open the Gallery but it indicates no files..but in DCIM there are photos - how does one access them?

 

Is there a way to see data that's on the device in a similar way that Windows has Explore view?

 

This is frustrating...
