Keyboarding and Input on Andriod Keyboard and Lenovo IME

[ Edited ]

New to Android here. Have experienced what I consider to be minor issues with keyboarding and input. I've played with some settings and read as much as I could before posting. Just looking for some pointers. Is there a method or trick (like double tap) to get a period placed at the end of a sentence? Although mentioned elsewhere, I have not found that tapping the spacebar, etc perfoms this action in gingerbread or honeycomb OS's. I understand this can be due to mods made to the device OS, but was hoping I hadn't discovered them yet on the K1? Also curious about the auto capitilization settings. When enabled, its behavior is not intuitive. New senteces are capitialized, but the feature remains on for the second letter of the sentence and beyond until disabled. Really? Granted I'm spoiled from my iPhone, but I was expecting more from Google/Android. I am not an iOS fanboy, and am actually looking to breakaway to ANDRIOD. However, moving my family to something which they will perceive as counter intuitive and a step back will be a hard sell. Just hoping I've missed something. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to post here in RICH TEXT....when enabled the enter key on my keyboard turns grey and won't accept input ... only working in HTML for whatever reason. Thanks for the help.

EDIT I post in about 5 orther forums. None exhibit the behavior.... only seeing here. I've dug through the forums settings, my browser settings and input settings. Nothing.... GREAT!

But still no way to doubletap or set caps on temporarily while typing. Defect in the OS?

Thanks,

I had the same issue...but now, for some reason i can type via Rich Text.  What build/vesion are you running?  i have had a few updates since then so maybe that cleared it up.

Appreciate your feedback. I'm running build k1_a301_11_11_111025_us. I assumed this was the latest non beta version available for my hardware? Fortunately for me none of my issues have been show stoppers, just annoying inconveniences

Thanks,
