Re: Lenovo / Android tablet maintenance

Should not be required saying it; to clean the tablet I would first follow the advice on page 70 of the user's guide as reference.  In both LCD displays and tablet's glass screen I would avoid anything but soft, dry, microfiber.

IBM/Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 (8808-94G) - 2GB RAM, 80GB HDD; OpenBSD/amd64
IBM ThinkPad T43 (2668-6CU, 2668-W4M) - 2GB RAM, 100GB HDD, NMB (US); OpenBSD/i386
IBM ThinkPad X40 (2386-E9U) - 1.25GB RAM, 80GB HDD, NMB (US); OpenBSD/i386

Baby wipes? Really? They don't leave a propylene glycol film or anything like that on the display?

Edit: Oops. I didn't see sobrado's post above this before I posted. Yes, reading the manual usually is best. I am curious about how using the baby wipes works out, though.

Mine has no streaks. Could depend on the brand.

You're probably right about that. I think some contain aloe, etc.. If I try them, I'll read the label first.

Re: Lenovo / Android tablet maintenance

Clean and Clear toner also works a treat in cleaning these devices. And works brilliantly when cleaning the ThinkPad rubberised surface.

For me is ... pour a lil water on the screen and wipe it down with those free cloth you get from spectacles. xD

Re: Lenovo / Android tablet maintenance

Personally, I find it too much trouble to clean the screen so often. Being a touchscreen device with such a glossy screen, it is bound to have marks and such within an hour of cleaning. I solved the problem by getting a matte screen protector and haven't had to clean the screen since.

Re: Lenovo / Android tablet maintenance

There are some good suggestions here. Thank you for sharing.

@jiv, a matte screen protector sounds like a very good idea. I will put that on my "To Do" List.

Re: Lenovo / Android tablet maintenance

Matte screen is good however I personally prefer clear screen with oleophobic as matte screen decrease the clarity of the screen.
