The android a market is closed for this region. If you also put it, it won't work. I recommend to establish an alternative market. For example GetJar or Blackmarket. There you will find all programs interesting you. I and made. Good luck.

in these third party roms Gapps are included (android market as well ) if you cant read chinese i guess you can find your chinese friends for help

In china, the android market isn't closed.

android devices from elsewhere with Gapps would work prefectly

it's just google decide to remove android market from android devices selling in china

however, many devs just add GApps into ROMs themselves.

Still no joy with getting the system rooted but I did find this which works well with getting apps.
