New K1 owner unhappy with GPS

What's the deal with the GPS on my new K1?  It never can get a lock on satellites no matter how long I leave it out in the open sky.

Is there a software fix for this or should I consider warranty return / replacement?

Was having problems too when I was in Australia. Was using the CoPilot Pro but was unable to lock on to the satellites. I thought it was the app issue cause was working fine on my S2. (it was a phone app but i manage to install it on the tablet)

Will test it later tonight (using google maps) and revert the results.

I am unable to get the GPS to work also.

I've tried both maps and navigation by google.

I tested it (stood under the sun for 5 minutes) Google maps was unable to get a lock ... Download a app called GPS test, the app was able to get a lock on 6 satellites ...

Will escalate a case to engineering.

So what is a end user to do? One of the primary reasons I bought the K1 was the self standing GPS feature.

No worries, I've escalated this to engineering for them to look into it. Which GPS software are you using? Google Maps? Or a navigational app?

Google maps.... I tried downloading the GPS test app and that works though only marginally. 2-3 satellites. I'd appreciate any follow up you could give me. I'm sorry to day if I can't get a resolution soon. I'll be returning the K1 and will be going with a competitor.

I also can get my gps to log on to keep searching unless I have wifi connected. Search for 20 minutes and didn't find anything. Under the same conditions my samsung galaxy s phone found the location right away. Tests for both done with google navigation which was included. I just got my ideapad 3 days ago and got all the updates that were offered.

Using an app called gps test after 5 minutes on my ideapad k1 found nothing, and yes the gps was on. The same program on my samsung galaxy s phone found 2 satellites after 15 seconds' and 3 more after 30 seconds.

Just got an ideapad K1... same gps issues as the others no gps lock using google maps. Any word on a fix or should i exchange the unit?
