Re: Queries for Newly Launched S2110 Tablet

Ugh, if Nvidia wasnt one of my company's biggest competitor's I would be cancelling this order and going with the ASUS TF300. Not sure I could show up to work with that and survive :smileywink:

Lol Shax, So you work for Qualcomm or TI?

I wish, for S2110 Lenovo would have gone with MSM8960 for a very compelling deal or atleast MSM8260.

Re: Queries for Newly Launched S2110 Tablet

Though i don't like tegra series. But unfortunately the best form factor tablet is carrying a tegra. And also want to mention that it's almost a year, and not a single Mali400MP2 or PowerVX544MP2 based QUAD products are in near sight.
Its a shame that we are almost forced to buy a tegra3 machine. Not just because it's too good. But Just because there isn't a comparable hardware available.
I'm annoyed with other processor manufacturers. :/

The s2110 has an APQ8060a.

The ONLY difference between the APQ8060a and the MSM8960 is that the APQ8060a doesn't have a modem. The reason they probably went with it was to save some cash for the wifi only models.

@krijes:

There is another option. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 does not have a Tegra 3. Approx $500. Not more than an iPad 3.

I did not want Tegra 3 either, that's why I was giving the S2110 a chance. Since I couldn't get it, I got the Samsung. Love It. I like the pen more than a keyboard. The tablet is fast and smooth. Great looking display. Out of the box everything just works great.

Check amazon for customer's experiences. Almost everyone is very happy with this product.

Re: Queries for Newly Launched S2110 Tablet

All,

Updated my prior message with specs on the battery packs..

3.7V, 6340mAh (23.46Wh) per pack (2 cells in the pack)

Still looking for additional details on 3G beyond what is available on the sales site for the S2110 specs today...

Mark

Wow that's a lot of battery. Is that the same setup that is in the keyboard dock?

Re: Queries for Newly Launched S2110 Tablet

I certainly hope that you all have a much better experience with this S2110 tablet than K1 owners have had. LENOVO really showed all of us that they really dont give a crap. They came out with this ICS OS build for the K1.... not even OTA....and left it up to a few very sharp individuals in the FORUMS to make things work. The hoops you have to jump through to get it on your K1 are just absurd..... they wont support it..... they just basically did not want to do anything but gave us something so we would shut up. LENOVO is the only company Ive ever seen treat customers this way. I am very disheartened by this dont give a s@%& attitude of this outfit. I will keep this K1 because I do like it....( plus I got it at a closeout price, right after it came out they discontinued it!). I will not now or ever in the future recommend this company to anyone. Remember this LENOVO..... what goes around comes around!

First Bug

I've had the S2110 16GB with KB for about a week.  Works great, BUT:  Very often when I either open up the clamshell after being in sleep mode or after a full reboot the tablet comes up normal, it has the Docking Connected icon in the lower right corner which says it detected the KB, however, the KB touchpad nor any of the keys function and the mouse pointer doesn't appear.  A sleep or full reboot doesn't help.  The only cure is remove the tablet from the dock and do a hot redock.  Redocking while the tablet is fully off doesn't work to correct the problem either.  Sounds like a hardware problem with the dock, except that the Docking Connected icon is on, so it's being detected, it just doesn't work.  This makes me think it might be a software issue.  This happens intermittently, but still several times a day so it's a nuisance.

Am I the only one seeing this?  Any Ideas?

This is my first post and I thought I'd ask here before I submit a warranty ticket.

Besides the above, the only question I have is: Do we have an active 3G slot or not?
