Ok, I am fairly new to this A1, or any tablet. I would like to install ICS on my A1 but it seems there are a lot of steps, and a lot of acronyms being used I do not understand. CVW??? How can I reboot to it if I'm not sure what it is or how to do it. Is there a detailed step-by-step guide to install ICS, or will Lenovo be releasing it officially as an update, which I can wait for.

Until, and if, Lenovo chooses to issue an official release of ICS for the A1, a newbie should not attempt the process. It is entirely probable that even if Lenovo doesn't, that someone from the development community will eventually create an automated relatively fool proof upgrade. But you will need to wait.
The process as it currently stands will erase your device and may render it inoperable.
Personally I've been using my A1 since November of last year on version 2.3 and have found very little that it cannot do on that version.
I have had my A1 since December, and I still love it. Yes, there are some apps that are glitchy on Gingerbread because it is phone oriented, but I would take an upgrade to Honeycomb which is the first Android release to recognize the tablets, and let the geeks fiddle with ICS.

BTW the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. No such thing as a stupid newbie question. Welcome to the world of Lenovo.
