Re: USB Host Cable?

I called Lenovo support and after being transferred 5 timesI was told there is no part number for the cable so I can't order one.  Has anyone been able to get one?

Re: USB Host Cable?

Sorry, I had the same experience.   even bought a thrd part female to female USB connector and tried it, but not postive results.  I agree there is a definite need for this accessory.

Re: USB Host Cable?

@shredzone
Apparently the K-1 ships with no female usb host cable in the U.S. shredzone, in Germany, got one. Why Lenovo would have such a policy is beyond me. I spent a while on the phone with Tech Support (not customer service) tel. (877) 453-6686 press option #1 then #2. Aside from the usual language difficulty the support person seemed clueless as to the existence of such a cable. This even though I told him that a German K-1 owner received the cable with his K-1. After lengthy period on hold the end result was they don't stock the part and couldn't give me one even if they had it. I mentiined the gender mender that (at that time) was en route from China. He said that seemed like a solution, but now that it has arrived (yesterday) the K-1 still doesn't recognize a usb stick.
K-1 owners please call the above # and register your complaints. Maybe Lenovo will solve the problem.
BTW plugged into my one of my Lenovo laptop's usb ports the K-1 does not show up under Linux Mint but does under Windows.
So far my only way of getting files over to the K-1 has been BT. Very disappointed.

Re: USB Host Cable?

Free or for sale the tech support person I spoke with didn't seem to acknowledge the existence of a female USB host cable. I bought a female/female gender mender but K-1 still can't see my usb stick, even with usb debugging enabled.
What gives?

Re: USB Host Cable?

I did an online chat with someone at Lenovo yesterday and they said it's not in stock.  They probably did exactly what I did prior to the chat:  Search for the part number on their shopping site.
