Boost performance and battery life - add SSD to your S10?

All,

I saw this story over on laptop mag - and thought it was a pretty good write up, with some comparative data on performance improvement, boot time reductions and battery life extension (modest) for the S10 when a SSD is substituted or the WD HDD it shipped with.

Whether adding and SSD which costs more than the base machine makes sense for everyone, I'm not sure, but I still thought it was a pretty cool story.

Has anyone tried this themselves?

Looks like we have one person who's tried:

I use my S10 mostly for catching up with my DVR recordings when I'm off-site, so I need the larger storage...

So $650 for 20mins extended battery life? Why bother to get a 6-cell battery on Lenovo for just US$80.
