CPU-Z says DDR3, CrucialScan says DDR2

Happy new year, everyone! I was wondering if there any way to positively identify which type of RAM I've got in this S10-3? Is it etched on the RAM module itself? Maybe I should just open it up to see?

It doesn't help that CPU-Z says I'm running the N450 processor with DDR3 (Ramaxel), but in contradiction, Intel's own processor identification utility states that it's running the N455 and I've got CrucialScan saying it's running DDR2.

According to the almost unintelligibly written knowledge base, the N450 uses  200 pin DDR2 modules. And it also states that the N455 can be either DDR2, or DDR3 with 204 pin. Really? **bleep**? Knowledge base should be renamed to confusion base.

I really don't want to buy the wrong RAM. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Re: CPU-Z says DDR3, CrucialScan says DDR2

Hi  and welcome

windows itself should display what kind of Intel Atom N4xx u use....

The simplest, just under Windows, is to display the properties system.

Left-click on Menu "Start", left-click on "Control Panel" ... Opening the Control Panel.

In this window (Panel), a list of icons displayed, and one of these icons, you will find an icon called "System" in which you double-click it.

The properties are displayed Systems and the first tab is called "General".

On this tab is the name of your processor and its operating frequency type and its actual incidence.

Right click on My Computer (or Computer under Windows 7) then click Properties.

or Simultaneously pressing the key "Windows" key and "Pause" to open the System Properties window

or

use a screwdriver turn around your S10-3 , open the bottom lid ... compare with the pictures .. what kind of memory is used.

S10-3 comes with N455/N475  only  DDR3 memory slot is factory used  ...marked in the article <----xxx  ...

Hope tha dis-confusion  a bit ... sincerely KalvinKlein
