When it was only the touchpad not working the display was working fine.
I now have the netbook torn down to simply be the display, the motherboard, and ac power and it is still no dice just a flicker on the screen and those lights flashing at me.

Disconnect the display so that you have just the mainboard and heat sink / fan assembly attached. When you the attach the power cord does the fan spin after a few seconds?

Unfortunately it does not spin or have any life. I do not even get a light on the motherboard with just it being the board and the ac. For this Netbook it seems like all power is controlled via buttons on the screen portion. Even a desktop you normally can jump the pins on the motherboard to get it to fire up.

As I said I don't know the system, but could you attach the component which includes the power on button to the mainboard and then attach the power cable, then press the power on button, what happens?
