Ideapad S10 Web errors

Quote:

Does anyone know for sure whether or not the 512 MB S10 just released has
Bluetooth? There has been some conflicting information on
this. I was told it's there. Others have been told it isn't.
The specs say it's on some models, but doesn't specificy which ones. But, the specs have been wrong before, like on
the graphics, so I don't know whether or not to trust them.

Total maximum memory on this model is another area with no clear
answer. I've been told 512 MB is the maximum. Then it was corrected
to 1 GB. Others have been told 2 GB max. One slot or
two?

Ordered a Ruby Red Ideapad.

At least two web errors:

1: the graphic: listed as IMG x4500 and shown in the order confirmation
email, then another CS email notified as IMG 950. Although the later would be
more resonable for the price, but the SR should not say that way when I called.

Email attached here:

“Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,

Please note that we recently experienced a web error which caused the
Graphics Card of your S10 to be listed erroneously. The correct card that is
configured into the unit is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950.
Unfortunately, we are unable to honor the original component, as it is not available for the system you ordered....If you are not
satisfied with updated configuration, please reply to this e-mail with your
current Order Number and your cancellation request. We will cancel your order
at that time.

2: CD-ROM for the Red model. Did be Listed on the ordering page at
that time, but not shown in the confirmed order list. No email from CS to
mention that. Call the SR, and was told just another web error.

Seems to me, their online sale system has those kind of problems once a
while. Several more examples from the internet:

Another: May-July, 2007.Some consolations from the free gifts :-)!

Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,

As you may be aware, some Lenovo Thinkpad T60 and T61 orders placed between May
9 and May 25 have been delayed
, and some customers ordering these systems have
received inaccurate or conflicting communications concerning estimated ship
dates. We know this is unacceptable to you -- and it is unacceptable to us as
well. We aspire to have an ordering process that is, like our notebook PCs,
second to none. We apologize.

We have been working hard to identify and resolve several problems that have
contributed to these delays. We expect to have the vast majority, if not all,
of the affected T60 and T61 systems built by 6/26/2007.
If you do not want to wait for shipment, you may cancel your order at this time
by responding to this email or, if you prefer, by calling the toll-free number
listed below.

We thank you for your continued patience. As a gesture of our appreciation,
please select one of the following items as a free gift after receiving your
computer.
Please indicate your selection by placing an X in the appropriate
box, entering your original order number, and reply to our LenovoCriticalOrders

“ One more: Aug. 2008

Dear
Valued Lenovo Customer,

We are contacting you with regard to your recent Lenovo X200 order.

Please note that we recently experienced a web error which caused the price of
the 128GB Solid State Drive
to be erroneously listed at $0.

Unfortunately, we are unable to honor this pricing; in addition, the part is
currently not available.

As a token of appreciation for your patience and understanding, we are pleased
to offer you a substitute of either a 64GB
Solid State Drive or a 200GB Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm) free of
charge in place of the 128GB Drive.

To accept this offer, please reply to this email and fill out the below fields
by Monday August 11th with your selection.

*** If we do not receive a reply by that date, your order will be cancelled at
that time.

Since Lenovo
reserves the right to alter product offerings and specifications at any time
without notice. Lenovo is not responsible for photographic or typographic
errors
. This pricing wasn't going to be honored. And it isn't. But
... you could get a compensation prize, if you tried to (As shown above).

Idealpad S10 would be a better choice (less than $400 with coupon) compared to others, but
those web errors, plus the responses from both CSR and SR really
disappointed. Lenovo eserves the right to alter product offerings and specifications at any time
without notice. Lenovo is not responsible for photographic or typographic errors
.

Good luck everyone!

Re: Ideapad S10 Web errors

The CD drive is still showing on my order.  No e-mail from Lenovo yet on that.    The only "compensation showing their appreciation" I've been given is the chance to cancel my order.

Re: Ideapad S10 Web errors

Yea, that's also the only option that was offerred to me by the CSR! Seem that she was really like to help you out by cancelling your order! The SR even didn't want to say appology for the web error.  I even recieved another email later that bumped up my price back to $439 (the ecoupon discount was taken away), and was told that was a system error because his record still showed ~$375 when I called another CSR.

what can we do now? Cancel the order, agree to the change or argue with the CS? I am not sure at this point, but probably cancellation or agreement would be the easier way to go, except that you could get more to be involved, and contact their supervisors directly.

Re: Ideapad S10 Web errors

Did you get an email about the optical drive error?  A user on another forum said he did and that you had to reply to it or they could cancel your S10 order.  I got no email about this, but they had my name and email address spelled wrong.

Re: Ideapad S10 Web errors

It seems Lenovo had two different emails sent out. One stating the order will be processed unless you email to cancel and the other stating the order will be canceled unless you email.

And for the most part, people who ordered the Ruby Red one got the email stating the order will be canceled unless you email them.

I'd definitely call or email them to confirm your order.
