Hi, I'm the proud owner of a S10e Laptop with a Spanish keyboard I can't configure after setting the appropriate language in Control Panel (Windows XP) and Regional Settings. Any Ideas ?
Also I've tried to input the ASCII code for some characters but it doesn't work either

Ola ira and welcome.
To configure keyboard in Windows XP:
Control Panel
Regional and Language Options
Languages (tab)
Details... (button)
Select Default input language at the top - more languages is installed via Add... button
You want to activate the Windows XP Language Bar if using different languages
- and maybe define a hotkey combination via Key Settings... in the same window.
To input codes for special characters on the S10e keyboard:
Activate the NumLock function via Fn+F7
Input special characters by holding down Alt and typing the number on the [789 uio jkl m] keys.
Swicth NumLock off via Fn+F7 before normal typing..!

Hi hpholm:
Thanks a lot for your reply !
I actually could enter the character codes as you suggested but concerning the language conf of the keyboard I still can get to match some of the keys pressed with the character displayed.
I've tried the "chcp" windows command (I guess that changes the character set), I was able to change some keys, but not the way I expected
I'll keep trying and post any solution

Keyboard for Spanish can be at least two different layouts.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout
the key for ñ € and more move around depending on which you choose.
- you can make stickers to put on the keys that don't match. ![]()
And don't try to remove the keys on the S10e keyboard and place it different. It will end in tears.
