I bought S10-2 (Win7, 250GB).
C: drive (primary) has 188GB and D: drive has 30 GB.
The dealer mentioned that this is factory setup and should not be changed.
I checked OKR (One Key Recovery) button and found that there is no option to backup the data. The only option is to restore the data from previous backup or retore default.
This means :-
1) If my OS crashes, I can not take a back up of my data stored before starting the recovery process. Hence I lose the data unless I am taking a daily backup !!!!!!
2) Since Primary drive (C
is 188 GB and D: is 30 GB there is no point is storing anything in C drive, since with OS crash I will lose them.
I had checked previous version S10e (Win XP, 160GB) and OKR used to show an option to backup the data to desired location as well.
This means :-
1) If my OS crashes, I can use the OKR functionality to start and take the backup first of all the data I need in to another drive or external hard disk. Then start the recovery process. This not only saves my data, it also saves lot of time and headache running around to various support centers.
Why is this feature not available in S10-2, which is supposed to be a better/upgraded version ???
Is there any patch expected for this ???
This is a must have feature, otherwise OKR feature is useless in S10-2.

Does the S10-2 have OneKey version 7.0?
That's the version the S12 has, it also doesn't have a backup option from within the boot-program, I was also like "WTF? 8-O" when I saw that.
Hence I'm now looking for an external HDD to buy...

Yes, it has OKR version 7.0.
I have seen version 6.0 and the option is very much available.
I am sure this is a bug and soon there should be a patch for the same. Though I am not sure if Lenovo support is looking into this.
BTW, Is it possible to replace 7.0 with 6.0 version without any trouble ?

I suspect, because the option is missing, as opposed to not working, that it's not a 'bug' as such, rather that it is an 'oversight' at best and that the feature was deliberately removed in version 7.0.
I too don't know whether Lenovo are aware of this 'issue', but suspect, even if they are, they're not going to be doing much about it.
I hope Lenovo will prove me wrong.
