Question for S10-3t owners

Hi Folks,

I'm seriously considering purchasing an S10-3t, but I have a question for you.

Is there a reason everyone is choosing the low-end model?

I'm looking at the one with 2 GB, faster processor, larger hard drive, Windows 7HP, Bluetooth.

I've priced it out and it is about $110 more than the best price I've seen for the low end model ($399). It seems like the price difference is probably worth it.

Note: I am pricing it out with and additional 8 cell battery to go with the 4 cell it comes with, and there is currently a 15% off promotion until June 3

Faster processor:  $10?

Extra memory:  $30

Windows 7 HP upgrade:  $80 (according to Microsoft)

Bluetooth:  $15-30+ (Seems really handy for 3G tethering and/or external peripherals)

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

If you are going to add memory and win 7 upgrade it makes sense to get the better one and I would suggest upgrading windows so you get the tablet features.

Re: Question for S10-3t owners

The following is from a post I put on the forum on March 17.   The prices shown is what the models cost at that time.

I originally bouth the S10-3T with the N450 chip and 8 cell battery from a retail store in US. I returned the unit to the store and opted for the S10-3T with N470 chip and 4 cell battery. Lenovo includes Windows Home Premium and Bluetooth.

I bought the 8 cell battery as I was not sure which I would prefer. The 4 cell battery is nice because its flush with unit. Its good for me during my daily commute. The 8 cell battery is definitely needed for long trips. The 8 cell sticks out and is personal choice if you like the added bulkiness.

Prior to returning the N450 model, I recorded the Windows Indexing results and ran Geekbench. For those deciding which model to purchase below is a benchmark and average price comparison of both machines.
