S10-2 HDD failed?

Can anyone confirm that my ideapad s10-2 HDD has failed?

Windows boot manager fails to start, asking for installation disk and gives a status error 0xc000000f - boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

Onekey recovery also gives a disk read error and fails to boot.

If this is the case, I presume I can buy a replacement HDD. I had backed up my data, but hadn't made a recovery disk. Any suggestions on how I can reload W7 and all the appropriate drivers etc?

Thanks

Hello,

I believe it would be best to contact Lenovo support- and Microsoft firstly, regarding your preloaded OS.

Wish you luck!

Re: S10-2 HDD failed?

Bought a replacement HDD (factory reconditioned) to same spec as original. Also had to buy recovery CDs from lenovorecovery.com. Managed to get netbook back up and running. If only I could get the webcam to work I'd be really happy!

Re: S10-2 HDD failed?

Hi

The webcam is simply not being detected by any application e.g. skype or in the control panel.  I tried loading new camera drivers (both makes were on the recovery disk from lenovorecovery.com), but they also said no camera is present. I therefore presume the camera has either become physically disconnected e.g. loose cable, or has suffered a significant component failure.
