I have been using s10 ideapad for two years now.. Suddenly from today, the power state shows "ON LINE" . Earlier it used to show as "CHARGING".
And also the battery power remaining is always 56% . it is not increasing even though plugged in. Can anyone suggest me a solution for this.
Does this mean that the battery is losing its life?
thanks in advance.

Check your power management settings.
Looks like its not on full performance.
Nevertheless, if thats not it, try updating Energy Management Driver:
Windows 7:

Windows XP:

Start by flushing out all static, easy as removing all power supply devices (battery and AC adaptor) and holding down power button continuously for 15 seconds.
After updating,
post back if issue persists.
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply.
I updated it. But it is still the same.
And could you explain in detail about flushing the static. How exactly should i do it

Yup,
remove battery & remove power cord / AC adaptor.
Then hold down power on button for 15 seconds continuously.
reconnect battery and AC-
Static Flushed.

If issue continues to persist and you want to avoid going for a new battery straight away,
see if you can find alternate compatible AC adaptor and battery in order to compare results.
Just to eliminate issues, make sure the issue is simply and only the battery, before proceeding with a new purchase.
It could just be that it's time is up.
On a last attempt, let battery drain out completely and give it a minimum of 4hours re-charge without using it, in order to attempt re-triggering the battery cells.

I did the static flush. Now it got fine. the charge goes upto 100%.
Thanks a lot
But When its not plugged, the battery time remaining shows only " 27 minutes remaining " though there is 100%charge left. Can you tell me what it is?

Hello!!!
Sorry for the late reply!
Glad your major problem is out of the way!!
Your battery meter could use a reset. Try updating Energy power managemet driver once more!
