[S10e-4187] Inconsistent webcam internal port connectivity

[ Edited ]

The problem is that the webcam reconnects all the time to the USB port, so the computer says that there is new hardware from time to time. Sometimes the webcam works after this and sometimes not - it also says that if I connect to an USB2 port it will work faster all the time.

Recently it hasnt work at all, I am suspecting the either the service pack to conflict with it, or maybe an hardware issue.

The computer is running: Windows XP Home Edition SERVICE PACK 3.

I have not updated any form of firmware on it.

Hope someone here can help

Regards

Re: Another S10e-4187 WEBCAM issue

It seems to be running the firmware 3.10.

It's still not working properly, now it even sometimes detects two webcams.

Now the camera detects normally, but there is no picture, JUST GRAYED OUT?

What in gods world is going on?

It worked perfectly during the first week of use. Aint there a way to restore firmware to get it to function again?

Reminshi,

You mentioned that you never update any camera firmware but the camera connectivity seems to have problem. I would like to double confirm with you. Did your machine updated with any software or drivers, or windows update before you started to notice the webcam problem? Does the machine come with Win XP SP3 or you updated to SP3 by yourself?

I'm not sure the firmware in my hand would help but you can give it a try. I'll send you a private message later.

Cheers,
Cleo
