Problem Solved!
The solution was simple. I noticed that the error was caused by lenovo ee boot optimizer "fbfmon.sys"
so my my solution -
boot it windows repair tool
selected command prompt
navigated to windows/system32/drivers/
found "fbfmon.sys"
and simply deleted it from the command line del fbfmon.sys
rebooted the system
windows starts as normal
unistalled lenovo eeboot optimizer
downloaded eeboot optimizer from lenovo and reinstalled it
hope this helps others!
and i know what DOS means

After further investigation I found out that it is not entirely Lenovo ee boot optimizer alone that caused the problem but also windows update.
What happened Windows downloaded and updated as normal and while in the procedure of restarting to finish updates boot kicked in and in the mix of things something went wrong,,

Followed Macphesto's post:
Booted with Ubuntu Live CD,
navigated to Windows/System32/drivers,
delete fbfmon.sys.
Boots fine since, but I wouldn't bother re-installing the crappy software.

If you don't find "fbfmon.sys", you'll need to find it on another drive. I too didn't find "fbfmon.sys" at first and I was on "Drive X:". Had to hunt for the drive that "fbfmon.sys" was on by changing the drive one letter at a time. I started with C: and went up from there. Found "fbfmon.sys" on Drive E: by typing "E:\" (without the quotes) and then pressing ENTER. Then go to path given in the above post.
