Dear all,
I have checked my Ideapad S10-3 by CPU-Z, that it has Memory DDR3 1GB, and SPD memory slot#1 DDR2 1GB PC5300.
My question is may I upgrade my memory card using V-Gen SODIMM DDR3 2GB PC-8500..?? Or it must be installed with V-Gen SODIMM DDR2 2GB PC-5300..??
Thank you very much for your answer
Best regard

Memory table Ideapad S-Series S10-3
All Intel Atom could be upgraded up to the max. 2 GB of memory due limitations
But there are different memory modul in use that depends on different CPU & model
Intel Atom N450 and N470 will support S0-DDR2
memory slot will fit a memory with 200 pins notch near more to one side
Intel Atom N455 and N475 will support S0-DDR2 or S0-DDR3
in Ideapad S-Series there is used memory slot for fitting S0-DDR3
memory slot will fit a memory with 204 pins notch more in mid to one side

.... offical recommended RAM list. for DDR3 supported machines ..
Additional Information about Speed
PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 SDRAM Clock Speed: 133MHz, Data Rate: 1066MHz, Through-put 8.53GB/s
PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 SDRAM Clock Speed: 166MHz, Data Rate: 1333MHz, Through-put 10.67GB/s
1333 MHz is devided by 2 equal 667 MHz so thats S10-3 with DDR3 runs 667 MHz

if you have another memory that runs well ... feel free to add here ...

I have the system with the Lenovo S10-3t with the Atom 455 Processor... I've purchased the Corsair memory - CMSO2GX3M1A1333C9 (DDR3 memory) as this is one of the memory models that is claimed to work with these devices. Unfortunately, this memory module does not work with my device.
I've done memory upgrades on a regular basis and it's clear that the card is being inserted properly (this device uses DDR3 memory without question).
Not sure I want to try going back and forth with Amazon purchases.
Wondering if it'll make sense to just return this system (purchased at Fry's) - then purchase a pre-configured system from Lenovo on-line...
Cheers,
SK
