Hi and welcome,
Have Windows XP included Service Pack 3 ? older Version couldnt detect HDA correct... install Service Pack 3 and try to re-install audio driver Driver for S10-3 XP --> Realtek HD Audio download and click on that file extract only the driver to.. for example place like this c:\driver\realtek ... there is a setup ..you can found in this folder that install the driver...

Win XP SP3 contains (SP1, SP2 and patches for SP3).
See this for Microsoft:- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/le
Is this what you were asking?

If SP3 doesn't detect or install the audio driver, then you can always install it from lenovo:- http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/au/en/driversdow
