lenovo s12 3g sim slot, can this be done? has anyone done this

hi all i was looking for some advice before i attempt this project, surely someone else must have attempted this before me

i want to install a wwan controller a sierramc8775 and wwan antenna so i can install my sim card and run 3g

as anyone done this? if you have i would appraciate the name of the controller, drivers and software and a guide on how this was done

has anyone done this? it seams a shame the s12 has this capability but it is not neen used

any info would be appreciated

Hi and welcome there.. 

known a  user who got 3G working in S12 ION ....with  Huawei UMTS Modul EM770  in conjunction with a self layered antenna.. 

SE 3507 could be one possible 3 G  and

Gobi2000

But Sierra mc 8775  will not work...

thanks for reply, with the card you suggested was it just a matter of plug and play? install the card, antenna and drivers and away you go?

the bios accepted this and no changes were needed?
