Re: B560 - EMI noises in sound

[ Edited ]

Hi staringatstars.

I've had my second B560 delivered. It has the same problems with the EMI sounds, so I suppose this is a problem the of the whole series. One thing I noticed is that the static noise isn't there until the Realtek Codec gets initialized for the first time. In my case after I imported a backup and windows booted for the first time. After this first initialization the static is always there, even in BIOS and POST.

I tried what you wrote, but there seems to be no drivers for x64 Windows in your package. My solution was to copy the x64 drivers out of lescat's driverpackage into the extracted files from the package you gave me. The installation worked, but there still wasn't a slider for PC-BEEP.

After searching some other forums I tried old drivers (R229). With these I finally had a slider for PC-BEEP and was able to mute it. Here's a recording made after muting. :-(

Thanks again for your effort, but frankly I'm at my wits end. Such a little thing, but this might be the last Lenovo I bought.

Re: B560 - EMI noises in sound

A small correction:

The noise begins when the sound is initalized, untill the system is powered of. Meaning when doing a simple restart the noise is also there in BIOS or POST. If the notebook was off, it's quiet until Windows/Linux/etc starts the sound driver.

Re: B560 - EMI noises in sound

Nope. Muting the PC-BEEP doesn't change a thing about the EMI noise. It's still there.
