BIOS 27cn71WW problem on Y460..

i have updated Y 460 BIOS 27cn71WW which is fixed 4 ram solution, when i'm installing it there's no problem from it process. but after installing it, it's restart than my notebooks hang when it booting at the first. it's show the white word "LENOVO" than hang failed to booting. please helps my problem. i have my notebooks dual OS, win 7 32 bit and ubuntu.

specs : core i5 430M, ram 4 gb, GPU intel HD graphics/ATI 5650..

Can you do the clean installation of Windows 7 only after setting the BIOS to default.

Please share the error message if you get after clean installation of Windows 7

i can't set the bios, when my notebook booting first then i'm press F2 and it shows "Please wait" and then stuck at there...

1 year ago i have updated the bios to 27cn61 and it's done very well, but now i'm confuse of this why this problem should happened..

Hello hamuk,

Can you open the laptop and disconnect the hard disk and check if you can enter into BIOS.

Tanuj, why are you walking around the obious fix?
Stuck at lenovo screen means only one thing, bad bios install.
and it has nothing to do with ram or whatsoever.
Only reason BIOS failed to install is incompetence from Lenovo engineers.
Problem like this exists in almost every ideapad made.
Lenovo should have enabled users to do boot BIOS install, at least after gazillion of same issues after supposedly successful BIOS installation from windows.
But they neither fixed installing bios from windows, neither they enabled users to install bios from boot.
There is a way to fix this user problem.
Here is a fix for y560 bricked bios, it should be similar to y460 fix.
try googling for fix specifically for y460, if you cant find it, try to do the same with your bios.

before doing anything, w8 for "lenovo support specialist" approval.
He should know if this fix is applicable to y460.
