Best way to install drivers

I searched this forum by going back a couple of years, but I was not successful finding the answers, so I'm posting the questions here.

I have a new Z575 Lenovo laptop and I want to get into a better habit of checking for and installing updated drivers.  I know about the Lenovo website where I can check for the drivers.  What I don't know is the best way to install them.

My Z575 came with a C partition, a D partition, and the hidden partition.  The C partition contains the operating system.  The D partition contains what appears to be the Lenovo preinstalled apps (like Veriface, Youcam, Adobe, etc.).  The D partition also contains a "driver" folder.

When it comes time to update a driver and I download the driver installer from Lenovo, is the installation process as simple as just running the installer?  I want the driver to be installed in the D partition under the "driver" folder.  How will that happen?   (I'm somewhat of a novice at this aspect of things, so try to be patient with me.)

Well you're out of luck, it's a known fact that Lenovo place little importance in supplying updates.

Really?!  Then why in the heck are we giving them our money and buying their products? 

Do others here agree with velenoso?

And notwithstanding velenoso's answer, I'd still like to know what the experts here think is the best way to install drivers.

Well i have the İdeaPad Z570 and recently downloaded a driver from their support site,

by clicking 'run' as the site advised,and when it finished

i was asked to reboot,

and  that's it.

İt went by without a problem.

On an earlier occasion,i had downloaded the driver to my 'downloads'

however that did not work at all.No response nothing.

So upon checking 'Device Manager'

i redid the task,this time by using 'run' from the site.

Seems to be the best option.

I made a guide for the Lenovo IdeaPad Y570 for a clean install with updated drivers.

All the Intel drivers are the same so you can use the updated ones from my guide, and just stick to the default drivers that came with your notebook originally.

What really determines the performance of your notebook is:

Intel Chipset Drivers

Rapid Storage Technology Drivers

Grapghics Chipset drivers

The start of the guide is basically the same, meaning, the intel drivers and the nvidia drivers.

but ill make a guide for you over the weekend, the weekend here in Dubai is thursday/Friday
