I'm using a Lenovo U300s. Overall it's a solid laptop, but there's one thing that's really bothering me.
I use the shortuct combination, CTRL+SHIFT+T, quite often. It's supposed to re-open the most recently closed tab in Firefox, Chrome, and IE.
Unfortunately, on my U300s, it opens up some screen whose function seems to be to select a desktop image. I'm not very clear what this screen is supposed to do, but it's clearly not nearly as useful as re-opening the most recently closed tab.
Is there any way to disable this?
Thanks,
Andrew

I am having the same problem. I use the Eclipse IDE for java development and I need to have CTRL-SHIFT-R and CTRL-SHIFT-T to lookup resources and classes by name. I could rebind it, or use the file menu for this, but being able to use the shortcut I've been using for the past 10 years is far more desireable.
Why would I even want a short cut to access notes or to change my desktop background? Really this is useless and annoying, tell me how to turn these off or I'm may have to send the laptop back.

Thanks for the graphic driver tip, but that's not it. I disabled hotkeys from the Intel Control Center program, but Ctrl+Shift+T still brings up the desktop background toggle.
Seriously, this is very annoying. CTRL+Shift+T is one of the most common shortcuts across internet browsers--Chrome, Firefox, etc. I will not purchase a Lenovo again if there is no fix.

THANKS, that's a very helpful tip. Works for me.
Disabling it hasn't caused any problems so far. I'll post here if I do get problems.
I don't reboot all that often, so it's not too big a hassle killing the process when it bothers me.
Looks like these are instructions to remove it from startup? http://windowsvc.com/bbs/board.php?bo_table=window

I tried out the script from the page you linked and it worked for me. Thanks.

I have the Lenovo y580 (win7x64)
here the touchzone.exe is hidden as SynLenovoGestureMgr.exe in %Program Files%\Synaptics\SynTP\
Click start-> type msconfig->click enter-> go to the tab system start and disable "SynGestureAPISampleApp"
Restart and the touchzone.exe doesnt start ![]()
update:
another way:
Click start-> type regedit->click enter->
go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\OSD
and remove the "directory"
go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lenovo\Int
and remove the "directory"

For disabling ctrl+shift+R temporarily:
1. Open Task Manager (ctrl+shift+supr)
2. Remove process TouchZone
For disabling ctrl+shift+R permanently
1. Click start, type msconfig, click enter
2. Go to the tab startUp and disable "Intelligent Touchpad"
