I've got my new Z370 that I really like so far. However at night or in dark conditions the white light of the five touch sensitive buttons (above the function keys) disturb my sight. Can I turn them off somehow? Just the light, because I still want to use the buttons. Thanks.

There must be a more professional solution for that. Any other idea?

Hi Teo,
have a look at Lenovo Z370/Z470/Z570 Hardware Maintenance Manual V1.0...
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/uk/en/UserGuide/
and service video...
http://lenovo.vo.llnwd.net/o16/Z370/index.html
may be possible to install a dark filter foil under the touch inductive section of upper cover...
good Luck... Zehn

Thank you for your answer but I will not disassemble the Z370 as long as the warranty is live.

Hi Teo,
how about putting a piece of 'Window Tint Film' on top of the illuminated buttons?

its also easy to remove again and you may find some cutting waste at car accessory shops to experiment with...

Nice idea, thank you. Maybe as a very last option I will get one of these films or just a simple black tape. But to be honest, I'm looking for the proper, official solution, not the crappy DIY way.
Is anyone here from Lenovo (a moderator?) who could tell me how can I turn off these lights on the touch sensitive buttons? They are very fancy, but way too bright! Also they are positioned right under the screen just to surely burn out the users eyes.
There must be a proper solution, a software or driver or BIOS setting or something...

...still waiting...

I am also interested in this solution. I have a brand new Z470. I know that on my old Toshiba Satellite A215, I was able to turn off the logo light by going into the bios settings. I haven't ventured there on my Lenovo yet. An official reply from Lenovo would be greatly appreciated.

This is what I am looking for too. Can we dim those lights from BIOS? Official Lenovo reply please!!
